Most Fattening Food – You Might Be Suprised!

We know that eating is a large part of getting a sculpted body, including our abs.

So what are a couple of the most fattening foods that you can eat?

Before I tell you I will mention that one of them might really surprise you.. not many people would think of this particular food but it can really kill your efforts to get the ripped abs you want or just a slimmer body in general..

So what is it?

Trans Fats or Sugars?

Before I get to the ’secret’ ab destroying food let’s cover a few basics.

Everyone knows bad trans fats and high fructose corn syrup are bad for you, we’ve been told this for years now so most people like you should be aware of it.

It’s in fact two other foods that most people miss, although you won’t be one of them now, that causes extra fat and that soft body no one wants.

Wheat Products

The first food that you have to watch out for is actually wheat products.. yes that’s right, something a lot of people would consider healthy can have the opposite effect on your shape and figure.

But how can this be, I mean isn’t whole wheat supposed to be great for you? And what about foods like granola, bagels, muffins, and crackers etc…?

granola bars

Well the truth is the human body hasn’t had this type of food until almost recently, so we’re not designed to take in so much wheat product based foods.

Try reducing your intake of wheat and you just might find yourself not only losing weight but feeling a lot better as well…

Fruits

With that out of the way, what’s the second most fattening food we need to avoid?

Well if you can believe it, fruit juice is the next food on our hitlist… yes most commercials and ads would make you believe a lot of fruit juice is good for you but that’s not quite the case.

orange juice

Now this isn’t to say that fruits themselves are bad, no they can be quite healthy for you.. So what’s the problem with fruit juices then?

The issue is that separating the juice from the fruit leaves out all the fiber that goes along with it and in turn you end up consuming a lot more sugar overall.

Sugar turns to fat, something that won’t help you get those great abs.

The Diet Solution Video

I came across a video the other day that explains in more detail how all this works.

Check it out here: How to identify fattening foods

I've also taken a look at the book they talk about.

Usually I wouldn't recommend these types of products but this one does a great job at dispelling a lot of the food myths out there and comes with some handy meal guides.

So you don't have to worry about eating the wrong foods and you end up getting to eat a lot of ones you might think were off limits for dieting (trust me you'll also be suprised at what they have to say about this)

I think most people will like the fact it doesn't force people to eat a lot of foods that leave you feeling unsatisfied and always hungry, which is a diet killer in my book since you'll never stick with it.

You can see my in depth review of The Diet Solution too.

I hope these health tips give you some more ammunition to get your abs looking great.

Hey! I’ve watched that video before, and it helped me a lot. It looks like I’ve lost almost 10 lbs by just watching it. You will probably get better results than me however, because I ,sometimes, go a little off track because I’m still a teen, and part of being a kid is enjoying those occassional treats :) I also feel more energetic and livelier than before watching that video. It has made me aware of what I’m actually putting into my body. I hope it works for you too :)

Just curious about this part… “Well the truth is the human body hasn’t had this type of food until almost recently, so we’re not designed to take in so much wheat products.”

But haven’t humans been eating wheat for like thousands of years?

Hi good question. Wheat today is different to how we ate it thousands of years ago. Harvesting advancements has allowed different sized wheat for one thing and it also contains more gluten (which I think is what most people have a problem with).

Personally I don’t have an intolerance to it, it’s more the calories that I watch out for.

really? I ate burgen bread or corn thins with boiled egg, chicken, beetroot and also fruit like mango salads and stuff and I lost heapz of weight in a month. I guess everyones body is different.

Hi Trieste, at the end of the day it’s the quantity and end calories that really count, sounds like you were able to stay below your maintenance. In fact there was an experiment not too long ago where a guy ate nothing but Twinkies and still lost weight. The foods above are more a general guide of what not to eat too much of as some people think since they are ‘healthy’ foods they won’t get fat even if they end up eating too much.
